Ms. Julie Khattar

Office Manager

Julie is the Office Manager for Paediatricians at Westmead. She is caring and helpful to the families who come to our practice. She oversees the administrative team and will make your experience at Paediatricians at Westmead a pleasant one. If parents have any questions, Julie is usually able to provide the answer. Julie has worked with many of the practitioners at PAW for the past 7 years and has a wealth of experience and knowledge about medical practices.

Dr. Patrina Caldwell

Consultant Paediatrician

Patrina Caldwell is the founder of P.A.W. She is a consultant paediatrician who works as an Associate Professor for the Discipline of Child and Adolescent Health at the University of Sydney.

Dr. Michelle Barnes

Consultant Paediatrician

Dr Michelle Barnes studied medicine at the University of Sydney and did her internship at Westmead Hospital. In 2005, she undertook a year in paediatrics at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead and started paediatric training the following year. Michelle completed her training in general paediatrics at the Children’s Hospital Westmead in 2016. Michelle looks after children with a wide range of health and developmental concerns, including but not restricted to babies with feeding concerns, children with learning challenges, ADHD and Autism, constipation, and concerns of chronic respiratory symptoms.

Dr. Hea Ree Byun

Consultant Paediatrician

Dr Hea Ree (Hayley) Byun is a general paediatrician who has a life vision of providing health care to children with a compassionate heart and child-centred focus. She graduated medicine from the University of Sydney. Dr Byun undertook her paediatric training at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, and worked there as a Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) in the Department of General Medicine for ten years. She has also previously worked as a VMO in paediatrics at Canterbury Hospital. Dr Byun has experience in a wide range of children’s health conditions, and has a special interest in the coordination of care for children with multiple or complex medical conditions, newborn and infant health, developmental paediatrics and growth and nutrition concerns. Dr Byun also speaks Korean.

(Cjt) Associate Professor Aniruddh (Ani) Deshpande is a clinician researcher who holds an appointment in Paediatric Urology and Surgery at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Sydney.

Dr. Naveena Jain

Consultant Paediatrician

Dr Naveena Jain is a developmental and general paediatrician who is passionate about supporting children to achieve their best potential. Dr Jain has special interests in developmental delay, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum disorder, learning difficulties and general paediatric issues.

Consultant Paediatrician

Merran is a Consultant Paediatrician who has a special interest in bedwetting, daytime urinary incontinence as well as constipation and faecal incontinence.

Dr. Dina Mahmood

Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist

Dina Mahmood is a paediatric psychiatrist skilled in assessing and treating infants, children and adolescents with a broad range of social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. With particular interest in trauma, neurodevelopment and mental health of children with medical conditions. Her approach is compassionate, holistic and acknowledges the journey and values of young people and their families.

Dr. Ryan Nichols

General Paediatrician & Adolescent Health Physician

Ryan is a general paediatrician with a special interest in adolescent and young adult health. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) with a long history working in Sydney and throughout Western Australia, including the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Sydney Children’s hospital, and Perth Children’s Hospital (previously Princess Margaret Hospital for Children). He is currently a Staff Specialist in South Western Sydney, Community Paediatrics and Youth Health.

Dr. Soe Thit San

Consultant Paediatrician

Dr Soe Thit San is a general paediatrician specialising in the care of children from birth to adolescence. She respects family values and understands the many challenges associated with parenthood. Soe completed her general paediatrics training at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead. She is a Fellow of the Paediatric and Child Health Division of Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and a member of Neurodevelopmental and Behavioural Paediatric Society of Australasia (NPBSA). Soe speaks English and Burmese.

Dr. Jeffrey Yeung

Paediatric Endocrinologist

Dr Jeffrey Yeung is a paediatric endocrinologist who completed his training at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. He is a Fellow of the Paediatric and Child Health Division of Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Endocrinology as well as General Paediatrics. Jeffrey has also completed further training in Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine.

Dr. Katrina Zaballa

General Paediatrician

Dr. Katrina Zaballa is a General Paediatrician with a special interest in paediatric respiratory and sleep medicine. She graduated from the University of Sydney, and completed her Paediatric training through The Sydney Children’s Hospital Network, at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.
